The number you have as the serial number is the actual data tag number. I am not sure what the other number is. Someone here should know what R0556972 means. Thanks for the contact numbers and a prompt reply. Folder request is on order for some pictures.

An interesting Barth indeed. The front and rear door setup, two generators, and the hump in the roof indicate this was some type of specialty coach, not necessarily a Regal? The Barth number indicates 32 ft, tag axle,"S5" (not a Regal floorplan "FP" number? More like a "specialty" floor plan?) I wonder what the inside is like. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

I believe the shortest tag Barths are 30 ft, Bill H had one. Not sure where it is now. It also had an "S" floorplan designation. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Sorry to dig up an old post, but has anyone found a similar model to this one? I have a 1985 model very similar to this one, and I can't find an exact model reference. My model also has 2 doors, spaced exactly like this one, a tag axle, and a stepped roof. Mine appears to have been owned by a Porsche race car driver/team that traveled around California, for what it's worth.

Good luck with your coach! Most of the models with the stepped roof were specialty vehicles. They had no fixed floor plans or interior designs. Some were shipped bare, some had minimal interiors. Most of these were used for commercial purposes. We know of dental units, mammogram clinics, libraries, command centers, and a few food trucks. Lots of variation. Some have full plumbing, some had none. Some have large/multiple generators. Some were later retrofitted as travel coaches. Depending on the job it may be really nice or not so much. I had a 33ft tag axle 86 Regal. The tag axle gives it superior brakes, handling and ride. The floor is raised for the axle resulting in more storage below. It is a good platform for a nice coach. You should find some more info if you search around the site. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Hey I know this Motor Home- I went to look at it when it was here in VA and was going to buy it but the seller sold it from under me when I called to go pick it up a few days later. He traded it for a motorcycle and some cash. I took lots of pictures and the interior too. It was nice looking and only had 42000 miles I think. Too bad cause I fell in love with the Barth brand and their all aluminum body construction. I was a man on a mission now and located one in Indiana and a buddy and I drove there and picked it up from MJ56.
