After some reflection, it has become apparent that even though I really like my Regal it is not likely it will get much use in the foreseeable future. It is a waste to let it sit around. This is a drive away coach. The last time I drove it was to Denver and the UP. Around 4,000 miles, used less than 1 qt oil. It will get 7.5-8.0 mpg on most trips. Just changed the oil and greased the chassis. Ready to go. I would like to pass this project along to the next custodian. Not perfect by any means but LOTS of good stuff has been done since Spring 2011. I had intended to get a few more things done but the Monarch came along and stole me away. My intention was to do brakes first, then suspension, then engine, then driveline, then accessories, then paint and cosmetics. With the exception of the differential bearings and ring and pinion gears in the rear axle, everything is done. I am at the point to be ready for minor body work and a paint job. Ready to roll, needs paint tlc. A note about the tag axle. In my opinion it is a huge advantage. Gives more load capacity, another set of brakes, air adjustable ride height, and much better handling. With the heavy front antisway bar and the tag axle, this motor home is very easy to drive. No sway or wobble, tracks true in cross winds. I have driven long hours, never had to fight the thing. In addition, the tag axle models have a double frame which is stiffer and 8" taller. The basement compartments on a tag model are 8" higher than the non tag Regals or Breakaways. The entire coach is 8" taller. Here is a list of things done since 2011. I'll get some tire dates, etc soon and some pictures. Speaking of pictures, regular site visitors know this is the most documented coach in the Barth world. Search my threads you will find hundred of photos and discussions. Install Hellwig antisway bar Replace front air bags New tag axle air bags Install drive axle air bags Install air compresser and tank Replace front bearings, calipers and pads. It has rear levelers only. Fronts were removed, still have them. There is no engine driven AC. I found the roof air worked better. At this time there is no generator on board. The coach is set up for a Honda 3000 watt invertor generator but I removed it for another application. Hard to say what this thing is worth... I paid 10k for it in early 2011. Spent at least another 20k (too scared to add it up) The spares included are worth over $1000. Worth every penny. Good times, good friends, many places. Put 40,000 miles on it. I am asking $15,000 firm for this great coach. Not in any hurry, I will post more info soon. svanwesten2@yahoo.com 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

For someone looking for a gasser this is the ONE! Hard to believe anyone would have the time to read all the documentation and see all the pictures ! Steve was constantly upgrading and tweaking like I did on DBarth. He had a lot more time so even more got done. Then he found a new Mistress in the Monarch. Just like I did. (Thanks Morris) I am sure someone will snatch this up quickly. Then Steve will be back to one. Well Steve a bit of your heart in that coach also. Truly a fine Barth I hope she gets a great home and lots of use. I thought of showing my wife the pictures, she might like the Regal, she does not have a lot of love for the Euro. 1971 24 ft Barth Continental P30 chassis 350 engine

I had good times with it. Florida five or six times, Denver twice. Many GTGs. Only reason I don't keep it is the 3-4 months we now live aboard in Florida, the larger Monarch is better. I just hope someone can enjoy it like we did. Mostly done, good coach. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

In the interest of fairness, I will pause to remind the buyer that the driveline is new from radiator to rear wheel with the exception of the rear axle differential gears. I would strongly suggest it be at least inspected as it is the only weak link in the driveline. Meanwhile two storage compartments need minor floor repair. The main problems are the steel frames below the floor line. These have rusted to varying degrees. The ones between the rear axles are mostly gone. Fortunately the aluminum skin is intact but it is unsupported there. I had intended to replace or sister in a new steel tubes in front and rear of all six wheel wells, starting between the rear axles. The corroded steel splash shields should be replaced with larger ones made of stainless. Fortunately for me, another site member (Kevin) had a batch of 1 inch square steel tubes custom bent to the proper radius for the wheel well job. I got 12 for the wheel wells and 2 more for other locations. These are included with the spares. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

What makes SteveVW's coach worthwhile is that problems were fixed, not ignored nor deferred.
