MILFORD -- William G. "Bill" Barth, 73, of Milford, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 15, 2007) at home.

He was born April 24, 1933, in Warsaw, to Ernest Eugene and Vivian Bertha (Chubb) Barth. He married Bethel L. Howard on Aug. 10, 1951, in Warsaw.

She survives, along with five daughters, Mrs. Tom (Nancy) Levernier of Milford, Barb Barth of Elkhart, Mrs. Larry (Cathy) Vanlaningham of Milford, Mrs. Dave (Laurie) Hartsough of New Paris and Mrs. Stan (Kelly) Hutchinson of Millersburg; a son, Bill (Donna) Barth of Syracuse; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Wilma (Jim) Tobey of Milford (his twin), Betty (Paul) Vancsoik of Warsaw, Lillian (Oscar) Brandenburg of Bremen and Louise Sponseller of Leesburg; and two brothers, Wilbur (Mary) Barth of Bristol and Clifford Wolf of Milford.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Barth, and two brothers, Robert Barth and Donnie Wolf.

Friends may call for two hours prior to the 3 p.m. Sunday services at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Pastor William Parks of Trinity Assembly of God, Ligonier, will officiate. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.

Mr. Barth attended Atwood High School. He moved to Milford from Elkhart in 1963 and helped start production of Barth Motor Co. in Milford with his brother, Robert. He retired from Barth Manufacturing in 1997 after 34 years. He enjoyed driving his race car at the New Paris Speedway and watching NASCAR races on TV.

Memorials may be given to the William G. Barth Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home.
