A question . A brother from Michigan and a sister from Wisconsin are spending the winter in condos located in Guf Shores , Alabama. We were thinking of a vist of 5-8 days to see them and thaw out for a while. Anyone ever use Gulf State park or RV parks in the area? All who wander are not lost.

I recommend the Trailer Life Campground Navigator 2008 I have the 2007 edition, which is a quantum leap forward over the 2006 edition.

Haven't been to Gulf Shores, although my grandparents used to manage a beachfront hotel there, but we've stayed at a couple of Alabama State parks and they are the best. I've seen the lit on the Gulf Shores one and if the opportunity ever arises it's on our short list. If you stay there, let us know how you liked it.

I've been down there a few times in condos. A nice quiet place to be. You don't get all of the traffic and people that you would see in Florida. Weather is a bit colder as you might expect. The state park is right on the beach and is very nice. Many pople go to the restaurant there as they have good food at reasonable prices. Good place to go to when it is cold in this neck of the woods - like now.

We Suthrenn folk refer to Gulf Shores as "The Redneck Riviera". A good, friendly place to be in Winter.

LOL. I was going to say something like that, but, not being a Southerner anymore, I didn't want to offend anyone.
