Just completed a trip to New Orleans and finally found an RV park that is everything their website says it is. The Pontchartrain Landing RV Resort is located about 6 miles from the French Quarter on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain. It is new and still being expanded, has a number of price levels(depending on how close you are to the water and the size of your RV). They have a free shuttle service throughout the day to the quarter, and there is a handy fuel station about a mile away. Look up the name on the web and you can be assured what they show really exists. Others who have stayed in the area can relate their experiences. I give it 5 Stars!

Because of the absence of a safe and quiet park this one was full even on a Thursday. They are scrambling to get Phase 2 underway to meet demand. Just a case of no real competition and a real need and a great location. hey leased a large waterfront part of land owned by the Port Authority whose previous lessee was wiped out by the hurricane. They have a marina and fishing on site and the clubhouse/bar/pizza restaurant is elevated above the flood level. Can't understand why a city like New Orleans never had a goos facility before, considering the French Quarter and all the festivals they hold.
