So we take the Barth to Canada.... in the rain. The genset starts to spin its starter motor for 20 minutes. I call Bill NY, then disconnect the positive battery lead... in the rain. We make it to Canada. My wife breaks out in huge red spots. I drive her to the hospital 31 miles away.. in the fog. 7 Hours later the doctor says it was probably caused by stress and had we been stressed out lately? We explain that we have had 5 deaths in 7 months. The next day, my daughter goes to the ER with an infection. Then on the way back to the US, my wife's car catches fire, which I put out using three fire extinguishers. But wait, there's more. The Barth starts tripping the brake alarm and according to Mwrench, I may need the whole hydraulic system rebuilt. Ain't life grand! Any brake system has cylinders (master, caliper or wheel) and some sort of power assist (hydraulic or vacuum, or air pressure) the common thing for all cylinders is the bore of the pistons that make them work. Any 1" repair kit will fix a 1" piston in a bore. Same with calipers, they are rubber O rings a few seals and a ring or two. Cardone rebuilds ANY booster or hydraulic cylinder style brake system. None of this is rocket science. If you have time search the web for who made your devices (not Barth or Bendix) and get the size data, then ask your friendly NAPA guy to get you an equivalent repair or overhaul kit. If you fix one, fix all and then flush with alcohol and refill with DOT 5 synthetic fluid. For example, if you have a Cadillac and ask for a kit you get one price, ask for a Chevy of the same style and it is half the price, and they are generally the same. One suggestion is to check a Hollander Manual which has interchange information on just about every vehicle known to man. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

I think you found a whole family of turd fairies. Must have stowed aboard for the border crossing. Stress is dangerous to health (obviously), be careful. Our modern lifestyle, lack of sleep, and anxiety puts us at the hairy edge much of the time. Add the emotional strain of family health problems and we have a time bomb. Vacations are usually a good remedy, except for the kind you had. Wow. I planned several projects this summer, including the Barth engine swap. Several other things have happened and I have been too busy to get anything done, or to enjoy the projects. I have made a conscious effort to "let it go" but it is not that easy. Be careful, take care of your self and the family, the Barth will still be there when you feel like it. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Really sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope you get all your worries solved with least amount of damage. We are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon in a couple weeks with the Barth. We will be staying at Flagstaff, AZ and jumping off from there with our toad. It is nearly 1300 miles each way... and we are hoping the turd fairy stays away. 1990 32' Regency, Wide Body Spartan Chassis, 8.3 CTA Cummins 4 Speed Allison Trans South Central Missouri
