When I save various CL ads for possible future reference, I always save both the PAGE and the LINK.
Before the 'net, when I browsed Hemmings Motor News or Cars & Parts a lot, I would flag pages with interesting items and sometimes contact the seller months later. If he still had the item, he was usually much more inclined to accept a lower price.
