Pretty solid at first glance... http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/rvs/4414214937.html = = = For sale is a vintage 1977 24' Barth camper. Barth was a custom coach company that built their units with all aluminum construction much like Airstream. No wood. Check out Barthmobile.com for history. It's built on a Chevy P30 1 ton chassis much like a Tow truck chassis. That means parts are cheap and readily available at parts stores cross country, unlike a coach with a Dodge chassis. This coach only has 61628 miles on it. It was bought from an estate and was well cared for. Brakes have been gone through and chassis has been safety checked. Tires are in good shape. Mechanically and drivability wise vehicle is solid. No rust on frame or underside. Inside there is a full bath in rear with shower. Kitchen has refrigerator with separate freezer, four burner stove, overhead oven, double sink. It has a fold down couch and a pull down over head bunk. Coach does need some restoration. Roof has been sealed but there is water damage to interior roof panels. Front over head sleep bunk is missing foam mattress. There is some damage to right front corner of outer skin. The awning is missing a bar for the rear post. Part is still available at RV dealership or manufacturer. Plumbing will need to be redone as some of the plastic lines are cracked but all lines are easy to get to. While in storage the onboard generator was stolen. All in all vehicle just needs interior repair and updating. It would not take much to make this a really nice one off camper or tailgate unit. Similar campers completed are going for $6000 - $7000. We moved to Oregon and are unable to bring camper out to us. We are pricing to sell at $3500 OBO. Call or Text - Eight One 5-274-Three934

Every Barth impresses me. Price is fair enough. New tires probably a must, due to age. Just saying, being from the Chicago area, if there is no rust on underbody, I would say that's a good sign, maybe fair weather only campers and stored in the winter? I assume the silver color of the exterior is aluminum and could be polished. How much would a shop charge to restore?
