Doug Smiley1983 Barth Regency Diesel Pusher - $16500 (Liberty Township)
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/rvs/5515603641.html Selling our awesome 1983 Barth diesel pusher motorhome.
If you know anything regarding the history of Barth Motorcoaches then you know these were the top of the line when new. Every Barth was custom ordered and built to customer specs with no 2 being alike.
We still have all original blue prints, wiring diagrams etc from when it was new. Retail on this RV in 1983 exceeded $150k!
Exterior is entirely made from aluminum so no rust whatsoever. All windows/glass is good with no cracks.
Powered by a turbocharged 8.2L Detroit Diesel engine that was replaced approx 4 years ago.
We were told by previous owner that it only has around 35k miles on it. Allison 545 automatic transmission shifts great. Huge disc brakes at all 4 corners stop using an air over hydraulic system.
Several recent upgrades have been made. 6 new tires ($3000) were installed last year and have approx 750 miles on them.
2 new AC units installed 2 summers ago.
New Pioneer bluetooth stereo system installed last summer.
New refrigerator/freezer installed 2 summers ago.
2 Flat screen TVs with bluRay player installed last summer.
Painted with Industrial Gloss Black paint in 2015. Windows have privacy tint.
22.5" Alcoa aluminum wheels are in great shape. Interior has hardwood floors throughout, along with comfortable seating. Couch folds into bed. Master suite in rear with full matress. Tons of storage inside and out.
Has all water tanks, propane tanks and gray/black holding tanks.
Also has wiring/adapters for 30/50 amp shore power. along with fresh water hookup found at most campgrounds.
There are a few bugs mainly in electrical system. A few interior lights and outlets do not work. There is a Koehler generator that turns over but will not start. We were told it needs a new carburetor.
We have only used it to camp at campgrounds where electric and water hookups were avail so no generator was not an issue for us.
Im sure we are leaving out several details. Overall this is a great RV with lots of life left.
We have a clear Ohio title in our name. Asking $16500 cash which is a fraction of what most used Class A diesel pushers cost. We are also open to trades for pre 1970 Hotrods, Muscle Cars of equal value. No motorcycles, boats, land etc.
Please call or text 513-509-9965. No emails.
See pics
We are located in Liberty Twp between Cincinnati and Dayton off I-75.
If add is posted, its still for sale.

Kevin
But, Why would you point a RV Black so as to absorb all the heat and use it to vacation in the summer? Maybe it belongs in Alaska where it can be seen in the winter. Industrial paint is generally not designed for out door use anyway.

Oh well to each his own choice. Even painted the bumpers

Do any of you seasoned Barth members know if Barth had had disk brakes in 1983? My 1990 has drum brakes front and rear.
How many members think it will make reserve?

I think it will not go much higher than 10K.

This Regency (RPI) has disk brakes front and rear. Also independent suspension front and rear. Owners claim a great riding and handling chassis.

DoormanWent and checked this coach out today. Under chassis good shape. not ate up with rust. Paint not show quality but not bad. Starts right up and sounds good. Did not test drive, Owner says drive, stop and handles great. wall paper could use some attention but overall clean interior. Could use some updating to be really nice. Has awnings, full length and windows but are removed. all need new fabric. I think AE or Care Free. Passenger side compartments are storage. Drive side have water tanks. shore cords in them. Gen set Kohler, Continental Water cooled gasoline powered. Turn over, doesn't start. Overall in good shape. Data tag 8301-0008-RDA
Checking Data Tag Project it looks like less than 30 Regency were built with this chassis.
Previous for sale post.

KevinThe Black Barth sold for 12k. Hey Craig was it worth $12,000 in your first hand inspection opinion?

DoormanI think it was worth it, Turn key ready to run down the road. Tires, fridge, 2 AC's, 2 flat screens and new sound system all in the past 2 Years. 20 K on remanufactured engine and tranny, Brakes in good shape. Although needing some work was clean and well taken care of. I thought about working a deal with him. He probably had close to 15g in it.
