Looking at the floor plan from the pics, it looks identical in layout as the 95 31 ft Regal gasser I just purchased Large storage compartments due to ducted AC

And very much like the 28' and 30' Breakaways.

The larger storage compartments are (my guess) standard on post-'93 coaches. The exterior beltline is floor level. On older coaches, the beltline intersected the wheelwells. On later ones, the floor has been raised ~10", giving much more basement capacity. My coach even has a passthrough.

Our 84 has the belt line (and floor) several inches above the wheel well cutouts. Ours has no pass-through, but could have, if the gas tank and genset were farther forward. (like Olroy's)

My '84 Regal has the floor raised 8" higher than a run-of-the-mill class A. Underneath, Barth put an 8" I-Beam (U-beam or channel or whatever you call it) on top the Chevy chassis rails. (Sure is nice to have room to work on it underneath) Inside there is only a minor step-up of 3-4 inches from main floor level to floor under pilot/copilot seats. This is totally different than SOB coaches....

I should have made clear that by "older coaches" I meant Breakaways (28' and 30').

My '94 Breakaway does not have a raised floor and of course no passthrough. I like the low profile and it is virtually immune to cross winds of 20-40-MPH.

I think this speaks to the individualism of each Barth as it was made or custom ordered.

Mine is the prototype for the post-'93 28'; chassis was delivered 2/92, completed 4/93, titled as a '94. I wonder if mine was an experiment with the raised floor - the other 3 known '94 28's are clones.

I can't think of any reason the GM drivetrain would lend itself to a raised floor, but with this "Regal", all 5 of this vintage with the 6.5L have it.

Rusty...to my amazement, I have the pass through also on the gasser even though it is a little small in height, if I remember maybe 8-10 inches located in the forward storage bins

Another advatage of the raised floor is no wheel humps, more flexable floor plans. Side asile, bath and shower locations.

The only drawback I have noticed is more difficulty for gimpy people and dogs getting in and out. I think ours is due for an additional handrail. Frowner

Bill is sure right...the raised floor height does make it harder to get in and out..

I guess I'm more inclined to want the raised height. After having 3 front-wheel-drive motorhomes, I enjoyed their low stance, low step up and excellent handling. BUT on the other hand, you had to deal with the cramped interiors, the cramped servicing issues, little to no inside or outside storage. AND now that I'm older and more concerned about safety issues, I like the raised floor (particularly in the BARTH) because when you are setting on the sofas, you are above the height of most vehicular penetrations... whereas in the Revcon, if you were on the sofa and hit in the side, the SUV hood ornament would be about nose level....

I guess there are some tradeoffs

You guys be sure and take real good care of your rear pushers....I want one in about 5 or 6 years....
