...a journey In 1815 Washington Irving sailed to England to help his brother, Peter, run his business and while there he kept a notebook from which he developed his famous Sketch Book published 1820 under the pseudonym Geoffrey Crayon... In 1975 the Angelica Press Corp republished this work {in a 2000 copy edition set in 12 point Scotch Roman} which I acquired soon after. This edition has become my favourite book to [re]read at Christmas time because (as the publisher has noted): "Irving wrote this story to uplift his readers' spirits in those "days of evil'. ....These days, evil or not, we hope the effect will be the same!" read it here: https://archive.org/stream/old...vi#page/n19/mode/2up _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!! | |||
