I still own a '78 Silver Anniversary (68K original miles but needs a total restoration) and a '96 Collector's Edition coupe (LT4, 1 of 751). I did own a '87 Greenwood Edition (a real one done by Greenwood) but sold that when someone offered me a deal I could not refuse. Wish I could afford one of the early year vettes. And the pricing on them has come down in the last few years from the insane prices being paid. Maybe if I got rid of some of the other toys in the building... In 1973 I had a 69 convertible (first and only Vette) 350 with 350 HP, 4 speed. Plenty fast for a 22 year old! The things I remember most about it was you had to be careful when you pull up behind someone at a stop light cause you couldn't see the end of the front end. Also at about 130 mph the top was just about ready to fly off 1986 Barth Regal SE 34 foot tag - 454 Chevy 8610 3363 34TFPOB | |||

Checked out a couple of 64 'Vettes. $40,000 to $65,000. Were the prices even higher in years past? Humbo

63 and 64s have been around that price for a while. Condition and originality being the big differentiators. Options like Fuel Injection can add a boatload. 65,66 and 67 C2s got the Big Block option and that's where the prices skyrocket. It's not uncommon to see a highly optioned BB go in the mid $100K neighborhood. Not bad for a car that retailed at $4000ish. 67 is considered the highest collector demand as there were very few made and they had all the goodies by then (4 wheel disc, Rally Wheels, hottest motor options). The C3 took over in 1968 with the long swooping hood and totally new look. Pollution controls soon took over (73+) and that turned the Vette into a slug for a lot of years!
