Last night at about 6:50 we went out to look for the Space Station. It was still quite light, and I saw what I took for an airliner come from the northeast heading for the southeast. As it came by it looked like a shiny silver dumbbell. Is it possible to see the shape of the ISS with the naked eye? 79 Barth Classic | ||

I have seen it many times ... It goes by pretty fast... Much , much faster than an airliner... One time, when the sun was in just the right angle, I swear I could see all of it, even the solar panels... It looked huge and was really bright...it was like that for only a second... I thought it had just blown-up...and I hadn't been drinking .... Much... | ||||

A pair of small binoculars will give a fuzzy idea of the shape, but it appears too small for the naked eye. Spotthestation.nasa.gov will tell you where and when to look for where you live... You can see with your naked eye the sun reflecting off it, but like rusty says, binoculars make it better.. | ||||
