Next week, there's a total Lunar eclipse starting at 8:23 EST, a bit after the moon rises in most locales. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth passes between the Sun and Moon, and blocks the light to the latter. Obviously, this doesn't require any special filters as does a Solar eclipse (where the Moon blocks the sun). The whole evolution takes several hours from first contact to last contact. Hey Rusty, did you get a good view? We had intermittent cloud cover and just about the time it started, it was gone, clouds the entire time. Oh Well, 2010? Ed 94 30' Breakaway #3864 30-BS-6B side entry New Cummins 5.9L, 375+ HP Allison 6 speed Spartan chassis K9DVC Tankless water heater

Clouds rolled away at the last minute; I got about 50 shots, but due to a brain pfart, took a scope that barely allowed the moon to fit into the camera's frame. Some of the shots are decent, and I'll post here after I've processed a few. We had somewhat clear skys after about 10:10, so we got to see a good view of the "Ring". Not the best ever but pretty cool just the same. 79 Barth Classic
