The fitting pointing downward, goes to the receiver high pressure side, the other goes to the high side of the compressor. There is another hose coming from the evaporator that goes to the low side of the compressor. The receiver outlet turns upward and goes to the expansion device. There is a small accumulator on the low side of the compressor. I think one could reverse the flow in the condenser as long as the receiver is placed correctly and comes out the bottom to get liquid. 1971 24 ft Barth Continental P30 chassis 350 engine

Time for dumpster diving! Go to a large junk yard and look for a 2007 up Suburban and take out the condenser. You can get a Sanden compressor on eBay just check the mounting ears so they match your brackets. You can also get the fan motor, they have been the same forever. Replace all the hoses, the drier, and the expansion valve(s) if you have two evaporators. Check the vacuum hoses and motors and evacuate the system. Make sure your expansion valves match R134 and not R12. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

The compressor that I have is a Sanden 709. Can I use that if I change the fittings to match the new hoses? I can pick up the other parts from Rock Auto.

I do not have time to find INFORMATION for you, but there is a procedure to change the oil in the Sanden compressor. Google changing to 134A. It requires a certain PAG oil for R134A. I do not know what PAG stands for. Some compressors sold on the interneT are not the real Sanden but "Sanden Style."

All automotive compressors have the R134 connectors built in. Your hoses should mate to the new style without any problem. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

I believe he is making reference to the fill inlet connectors, R=12 vrs R-134a. They can be purchased at Walmart, about 10 bucks for a set. 1971 24 ft Barth Continental P30 chassis 350 engine
