roof vents/fans
I want to replace the roof vents/fans. They are the manual open, auto start, three speed fans. Any suggestions as to brands, models or source?

There's several good manufacturers out there, but absolutely no one comes
close to the after-sale customer service of the Fantastic folks in Imaly City, MI.
Their product support is legendary. Because of that, I've never price-shopped this equipment - Fantastic justs gets my business. FMI: http://www.fantasticvent.com/

Hi Scargo,

Tonka has two Fan-Tastic Vents. The bathroom vent looks to be original to the coach and works great. The kitchen vent looks like may have been upgraded and replaced some time ago by one of her previous owners. Both are quiet and seem to move plenty of air. The front fan had both plastic screw tabs broken off the dome-lift motor housing and had been jury rigged using washers when we bought her. After having a problem with the “temporary” fix during our final weekend jaunt last fall, I finally got around to fixing it this summer. I called Fan-Tastic Vent and they sent us a new improved lift motor conversion kit, new lift arm, dome slide kit, appropriate screws and clear instructions at no charge. Plus the support person was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and exceptionally helpful. That all strikes me as pretty amazing support and service! I’m definitely in their camp. Thumbs Up

We have a FF and a Turbo MaXX.

Each has a unique set of advantages. I have had good after purchase service from both.

I took the little joke fan out of the bathroom Jensen and installed a large 12V fan with timer. It is not the equal of a FF, but quite adequate for the bathroom. We are managing without the light in the fan housing. If I wanted one, I would use an SMD LED array or strip.

My fans are working great, however, I am having moisture seepage in the fan area. The previous owner told me the exposed top of the housing was getting hairline cracks and was causing the leaks.

I had some hairline cracks in the base of a vent. A coat of Liquid Roof did the job.
