What would be the benefit of not running it thru the inverter and just going 120 on it? (hope this isn't a dumb question) ~Jeff~ 1984 28' Regal P30

Have you tried a truckstop? Like Pilot, Love's, Petro or TA, I have seen some there, looked at a 13" ac/dc for $179 on sale. Otherwise BestBuy might have some. Just make sure you get one for digital TV! 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25'

I wanted it to where the passengers could watch during a trip without running generator. As far as stupid question....there are none to me because I am kinda new to the rv thing and alot has to be explained to me. Just bought a propane/110 refrigerator ...my coach is plain and I am building the interior the way I want it. Slowly but I will hve what I want. By watching this site, I decided on a Barth and found one in Wiggins Mississippi....... Thanks for all of your input. gorman 1995 Barth Mobile Office P-30 454 23' Data Tag 9505 S0002 23L 01

Well, I looked online and there are 22" LCD 12V TVs out there, But still, could you not use a separate power inverter and just run a 120V TV off of it? Inverters seem to be a lot less than the diff between a 12V TV and 120V. ~Jeff~ 1984 28' Regal P30

Here is one from Buy.com that has good reviews. There are a few other places that have this model as well. 22" LCD AC/DC ~Jeff~ 1984 28' Regal P30

12V is just easier, plug in and go - no inverter needed (inverters are No 1 in truck fires, overload). As of passengers watching going down the road, I do not know how good the stations stay on. Maybe a little car DVD player would do the trick. In motion satelitte is still expensive. Also like 12V for dry camping and portability (take in car/emergencies I.e. Hurricanes). Check out the Flying J Truckstop website, they got some. How does LCDs hold out in cold weather, below freezing? We do not have the heat on during winter storage. 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25'

I have 2 12V analog CRT TVs (9" and 13") and a 12V VHS player. Pick 'em up for free. However, an LCD and a DVD player would draw less than 200 watts, to an inverter need not be very large. That TV doesn't look too bad, but you definitely don't need 1080p in any television under 40". You would not be able to even tell the difference between 720 and 1080 on a TV in the size range suggested, so there is no reason, in my mind at least, to pay a premium for it. As far as I can tell, the premium on that TV is for the 12V adaptation. I think the 1080i is pretty standard these days. ~Jeff~ 1984 28' Regal P30
