My exterior mirrors were ripped off their mounts. I live in the greater Phoenix (Tempe) area and had to travel to Western Texas to buy replacement mirrors from a salvaged bus.
Unlike modern mirrors they fit almost flush with the side of the bus. These Velcro mirrors have a rubber piece that hides the mount.

Anyway, I now there are numerous 'Helping hands tools on the market. The helping hand that allows on drywall person to hang a ceiling in a new home, a tyranny jack that allows one person to disconnect a tyranny from the engine, driveshaft etc & safely extract the tyranny and lower it to the ground. I have attempted to bolt the replacement mirrors the left and right sides of the RV. I am getting to old to hold one study for a few minutes so the mounting bolts can be started into the threaded mirror. Surely there is a tool to hold a heavy mirror in place while it is bolted to the RV. Does this tool exist??

Thanks Lonnie Stepp

Smear a 1/32 inch layer of Shoe Goo on each surface around the top half. Let them dry for 10 minutes or so, depending on temperature. When it is somewhere between dry and tacky is about right.

You might be able to use another contact cement, but Shoe Goo is thicker than most of them.

Saw the heads off a couple of bolts and screw them in as pilot rods. Pick two holes far apart.

Install the mirrors in position, making sure they are well-seated. If it seems tight, remove the pilot bolts and fasten them at your own speed.

I wish.

I actually started using it when good tennis shoes(K Swiss) were quite expensive, and I wore out the toe of one serving. Somebody told me about it, and soon I was using it on the wear spots of all my shoes. From there, its usefulness to me just multiplied.

It runs in the family. My granddaughter brings her broken Chinese toys to my son, with the toy in one hand and the tube of Shoe Goo in the other hand, saying, "Daddy fix."

I may have a thing for glue, as I grew up deprived. The only glue in the stores was LePage's Hide Glue. A little later, Duco Cement was available. When I couldn't get Duco I made model airplane glue by melting toothbrush handles in acetone. My stick and paper rubber powered planes all had to be painted a dark color to prevent the brown green color of the glue from showing through. I was accused of getting my glue from the feedlot.

Anyway, the maker of Shoe Goo has a line of Goop that are all pretty similar.

ONLY RV, Lawn and Garden, Sport/Outdoor & Marine are UV resistant.
