All Barths are different, so who knows?

In-tank pumps were universal on RVs with the arrival of fuel injection. Barth did mount a Carter electric pump above the tank on some coaches. You can usually hear them when the ignition is on with the engine not running. They are not too hard to see, if you are small and flexible.

A P-30 with a 454 may have an electric inline auxiliary pump. It will be on the inside of the frame just forward of the tank. The 454 uses a mechanical pump located on the passenger side front of the engine right next to the water pump lower radiator hose. The standard P-30 did not come with an electric but some end users may add them. In an earlier post I outlined the problem of using such a pump as it changes a suction line to a pressure line and can lead to burst rubber hoses upstream of the tank. If installed all the rubber hoses from the outlet of the electric pump to the mechanical inlet should be change to high pressure hoses or even braided steel. These area available from speed shops. In the case of pressure leaks, particularly at the hose connection on the outlet of the electric pump, you may not see any evidence and if it is on the inlet side (from the tank) it can such air and cause stumbling and fuel starvation. For an RV I recommend changing the rubber lines each time you change the fan belts.

That goes double for me. I change the fuel and tranny cooler hoses twice as often as belts.

Oh, yeah, Probably not fire-related, but give the upper radiator hose a squeeze test right above the manifold outlet. If it feels softer than the rest of the hose, replace it. If you can see any bulge at all there when under pressure, replace it. This is where they fail.
