kitemanReplace gas tank on p30?
This may be a case if it aint broke dont fix it . i have a 1988 p30 454 original gas tank and pumps of course . it has 2 fuel filters the one near the engine i change regularly the other one in the hard lines under the chassis i cant figure out how to change . it had of history of occasionally running slow on the freeway but i put seafoam in it every fillup and that has stopped . my question is should i go to the trouble of changing this system out to keep crap out of the engine . its amazing the fuel pump is still apparently working . what upgraded filter should i use and should i worry about the one i cant change .

Steve VWGm made numerous changes to their fuel systems during the 80's to reduce vapor lock. I was never a fan of the intank pumps and tiny filters they used. Here are some changes I made.

OTOH, if it ain't broke... don't fix it. Be sure of clean fuel, mind your filters and you should be OK. Good luck
