I had a slow coolant leak I could not find for some time. Unfortunately, on the way north from Florida on I75, The radiator core split open. I pulled over, refilled the system, then drove 2 miles to the nearest exit, 50A, about 10 miles south of Dayton. It needed refilling again. Needed a new radiator and installed somehow... I got in touch with Dana. He had recently sourced and secured a replacement radiator for his Monarch. Got cross referenced to Volvo truck radiators. Volvo 239380 is the all brass model. Volvo 238676 is the Aluminum core plastic tank model. Meanwhile Craig (Doorman) had located a contact at a Radpro, a local commercial and industrial radiator supplier. They had a 238676 in stock and it was delivered by 1030 that day! I would not mind having the brass one but this one is well made and should be fine. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Inspection reveals the radiator has the charge air cooler bolted to it, and the smaller power steering cooler. It also appears the the radiator should be removed from the side, rather than out the bottom as I had anticipated. Either way, the extra coolers and the radiator surround frame must all be removed to replace the actual radiator. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

The smaller cooler swings out of the way, exposing the charge air cooler. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Removing the charge air cooler exposes the radiator. The cooler is bolted to the radiator frame at the corners. Remove the bolts and loosen the charge air hose connections. The cooler tips right out. Notice the big wet area on the radiator. The radiator is mounted in a surround frame. The radiator frame is bolted at each corner to the mounting brackets attached to the chassis frame. If you remove the 4 bolts at each corner, the radiator frame comes loose. Here the radiator hoses are loose and only 4 bottom bolts holding the frame in. It should be able to tip out and away. Then I can open up the frame and replace the radiator itself. Started raining hard. Done for the day... 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Looking at the core, no wonder it leaked. The fins are not straight and they crumble to the touch. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

My helper had a previous job so I started on my own. By the time he was available I had removed most of it and it was raining so I quit and I think I can finish it myself. If I get hung up he will help Friday. Still raining but I will get back to it shortly. Hope to be done today and escape later. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

I have done this job . Our Bluebird had the same Spartan setup . I was able to remove everything myself . Luckily , my radiator was in pretty good condition and was easily repaired . I did recruit some help along with a floor jack to help reinstall the radiator . Harold Cat Sam Miniature Schnauzer 3.8.2009 - 9.24.2021 93 30ft Breakaway 9209-3823-30BS-11B KE5WCW

Sure enough, you can tip the radiator and frame out. The fan shroud comes with it. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Finally ready for the new radiator. It took a while to knock the end frames loose. If I was home I would have repainted them... 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp
