hi gang, I`ve never had a problem with my fresh water tank odor, BUT I`ve never had to depend on it like i do now!!!I bought some property, and I haul my own water every weekend,20-30 gal. sometimes more... and dump it in my Barth. After a couple of weekends, the odor is getting pretty....bad. My rig is positioned in a way that taking it in and out of my campsite, is quite a hassle, so i`d rather leave it there for time being...therefore rinsing it with fresh water is OUT!! My question is....can i use the tablets they sell in stores, or is there a HOME remedy that we should all know about, like vineger, that would cut down on the odor?? Also, would these tabs. make it safe to drink?...(i use bottled water now for drinking). thanx in advance for any tips...Next year i plan to have a well dug, and my problem will be solved......P.S. Are there any warnings about leaving "leftover" water in tank from week before??..My rig is in the "hills of west Virginia", and is miles from any other water source, which is why i cant rinse it with fresh. Thanks again, jim

Try the tables or just 1/4 cup of house hold bleach "not the scented type" per 20 gals. Put the bleach in the hose before you fill the tank and then you disenfect the hose too. "not the scented type". It may take a load of water to get the very slight bleach smell. But for me it isn't all that unpleasant. We use bottled water for drink and coffee also. ------------------ Shortcuts Always Take Longer
