I have a complaint on a differednt fill pipe, on my Breakaway the oil fill pipe is level the hole way to the motor and is located at the very top of the compartment door. This makes for the use of a funnel with a 90o angle and then oil still wants to leak at the fill. I say erevy time I change iol that I'm going to see what others say about this but never did till I see this post on oil fill tubes.

Get a piece of clear tubing that will fit on the end of the funnel and is long enough to go as far down the fill tube as possible. You have to fill it slowly however if you warm the oil a little it will flow faster. Let the tube drain for a while before you pull it out....should be a lot less mess. I have to do this on my bus.

Well, success on the dip stick!! After talking to Workhorse and using the info that Bill H sent me, I ordered a new dip stick from Workhorse. Part # 14092376. Lo and behold, the new one is 1 1/4" longer than the old one. Chevy, as they admitted, screwed up some dip sticks in mid '85. Actually, they didn't do it alone. Their subcontractors did their share as well. Oil level with 6 qts in the sump registers full on the new dip stick. Just think of how much oil was burned off in 75000 miles. Anyway, problem solved. I indeed have a 454 with a 6 qt. sump!!
