Does anyone know if the ground for the speakers in the '86 Barth uses a chassis ground or is there a two wiring to each speaker? I'm going to replace the stereo and install a CD type radio and one young fellow at the radio store says that you can run into problems sometimes when there is only one wire to the speaker and the ground comes back through the chassis.

Couldn't you check continuity between either one of your two speaker leads to ground? I'd be surprised if they used the chassis for a speaker ground in the mid 80's...A good radio installer should be able to tell you just by the type/style radio.

Dennis,
I also changed out my radio on my 1985 28'. By process of elimination I was able to figure which wires went to each speaker. There were 2 wires for each speaker behind the radio.

Ronnie That is what I wnated to hear. The installer at the service center said that if there were two wires for each speaker it would be no problem. Now I have to figure out how to install an antenna for the satellite radio. Thanks for the help.
