Danny ZHouse battery question.
I haven't installed a new converter charger with smart charge yet and I don't want to burn up my new house batteries again. I want to keep the coach plugged into 110 here at home. If I just disconnect the negative sides of both batts that will be enough, right?

Rustyit's safer to disconnect the negative

Tom and JulieWait a minute! Your accessories like pumps, fans and sensors, like the sniffer have to have 12v to work. They use the 110 to recharge the batteries. If you disconnect them only the 110 things will work. In some cases the lights are working from 110 but are really 12v devices.

RustyWith newer single-output converters, that's true, but his is probably the old dual-output design, where house 12VDC and battery charger are separate circuits. Disconnecting the battery only disables the charger section while the house section supplies 12VDC power.

Danny ZDidn't really think about that but Rusty is right. All the 12v lights work. Fridge is off so don't care. I don't need to leave the coach plugged in but sometimes I use 110 out there for something and forget to unplug it.
