Many coaches are wired so that the 120 VAC outlet over the driver's side dash is disconnected when the ignition is on. No doubt this was done as a safety measure (this is where the TV, DVD player, etc., typically get power). This was an irritation to me, as the satellite receiver would cut out when I repositioned the coach for better reception. So I decided to remove that wretched relay (I think it was MWrench who mentioned his relay was in the breaker box): The wiring presented something of a conundrum, as the wires seemed to go nowhere, passing through a hole in the backboard. This became more logical when I lifted the floorboard behind the backboard and found a rat's nest of wires and bights. They were labelled, however, so it became a matter of clipping out the wires to the relay and connecting wire to the dash outlet directly to the breaker. Yes, my "tv relay" was in the main breaker box in the electrical compartment at the foot of the bed. I did the same thing when I found it. I removed the relay and connected the wires from the relay directly to the AC circuit breaker. This is generally a standard in most RVs so the front TV will not operate while the RV is being driven and the driver will not be distracted. Yep,but that would've left a worthless item in the coach. By removing it, I was able to eliminate 2 of Barth's wretched wire connectors: (File photo) Rusty "StaRV II" '94 28' Breakaway: MilSpec AMG 6.5L TD 230HP Nelson and Chester, not-spoiled Golden Retrievers Sometimes I think we're alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we're not.
