Thanks for the instruction, Nick. In my case, it is the dash heater/AC motor very noisy like bad bearings. Hope it goes as well as your furnace motor.

Made it all the way to removing the small fan on the right side of the motor. It moved almost to the end of the shaft and now won't budge. Now after half a can of WD-40 and sliced up hands from the sheet metal I am at a loss. It will not go back down the shaft allowing me to sand the shaft clean. My head hurts from banging it on the side of my trailer !!!!!

He's trying to move the fan on the shaft, not lube the bearings... WD-40 isn't bad for his application, but PBBlaster would be better. WD-40 "pushed" the rust onto/under the threads? This is a fun one. Aerokroil and a little heat if needed.

Kroil certainly is one of the best rust breakers. You know it is good because it is not sold in this GREAT LEFT GREEN State of CA. I have also used a mixture of brake fluid and ATF. If rust is concentrated I would also try a small amount of CLR dabbed on with a "Q" tip.
