What is it!
This is the curd side of my Dana 80'

ant it is attached to the starboard side of the frame . Is it a "track-Bar??

That's a Panard (a/k/a "Locator") rod; it stabilizes the rear axle.

There's more in this thread.

Note the grease fittings - they're there for a reason...

Often called that, but Panhard Bar, as Rusty says, is the correct term.

Do you suppose the lack of lubrication is adversely effecting it's stabilizing function?

They tend to get noisy any wear becomes a problem. I think you'd hear it first. But give it a shake, just to be sure.
