I have one leaky kick-down jack and need to drive from Florida to Colorado. I don't want to pump all the oil from the system so I would like to disconnect power to the pump for the jacks. I believe it is in the front of the coach. Does this pose any safety problems? Is the pump needed to be running to prevent the jacks from dropping down? Please advise. The alternative would be to remove the line at the leaking jack and plug it. I would prefer removing power since it would make it more quiet while driving. Thanks for any and all input. HWH jack are held up by spring and it take hydrolic pressure to lower them. You don't need to do anything. Just turn off leveling. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance

For some reason the jack pump runs anytime the key is in ignition position. Tomorrow I will verify that it is indeed the source of line pressure and remove the control wiring. Then later I will find out why it is powered all the time. There are fuses in the switch panel that can be removed. no need to mess with the wiring. Check the manual. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

The power switches for the motor itself are located in the valve body with the joystick. Two wire connector next to the hydraulic lines. The switches fire a relay to operate the motor. Sounds like a switch is stuck. You should be able to find a fuse to disable it. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp
