I see that you are in Tacoma. I found a place in Portland, Ore. that has replacement windows for RV's. The name of the place is Pininsula Glass Co Their website address is www.motionwindows.com They can make anything you need. I talked to them about of my windows in my Barth. Dennis

Is anyone archiving all these great resources for replacement parts? It would make one heck of a directory for all Barth owners everywhere. I know it's a project that would take time but if such were compiled, I would be willing to pay a few bucks for the catalog. Anyone else interested? There have been so many posts here with contact names, numbers and categories, everything from glass to doors to panels. Even an index on a page here might work???? I too stooopid about tech stuff. Also, anyone have a top flight screen door to recommend. Ours appears to be a rather "cheap" Alumax and I don't recommend it, partly because of the plastic slide handle/pass through that seems to always be coming loose. In my SOB group we actually have an archivist who saves, groups and archives the tech posts. We then update each years posts on cd and sell the cd for $10/year. We find it to be a good way to fund our website and hardcopy newsletter. Tim

Irene had an appointment in Vancouver today so.... I dropped her off then went to Peninsula Glass. I got the whole A-1 tour from Tom Kemp, the owner. They have a top of the line window. Tom told me that their windows should stop 98% of my condensate problem. These windows are far nicer than the ones that came in our particular Barth. They have real aluminium screens too, that come out easily not like the plastic ones I have now. Our rear window is in the $275-$295 range (I didn't have exact measurments) and the little sliders like in the bath and above the sink area are in the low $200's. The size isn't a big factor since glass and the aluminum frame is cheap, and the time to build them isn't that much diferent. The glass is two 1/8" panes separated by 1/4". I got sample colors of Dark Grey, Solar Grey and Solar Cool Bronze. I really liked the Bronze, from outside it's almost a mirror, from the inside, well, kind of a cool bronze, nice. They charge $45 an hour to install the windows. Seems good to me. I'm gonna go for it. I'll add this after I read Dave's comments: I have condensate problems because I live in a Rain Forest... really, 50-100" a year! Why?Well, I'm surrounded on three sides by a State Park and I'm in the Middle of a National Scenic Area.... Other than Southern Utah, we go somewhere to DO things, NOT look at scenery. Just seeing what was at Peninsula Glass today, I wouldn't hesitate to say they maybe the Standard of the Industry. The frames are beautiful.... Far better than Gypsy's factory ones. They are a very dark brown anodised, aircraft quality aluminium. Just having a real aluminium screen that pops right out is worth the price to me. The best way I found to get the factory ones out, for me at least, was to finish off a 5th/ltr of a good single malt and then give 'em a big yank... sometimes the next afternoon this doesen't seem such a good idea and I fall down a lot, but it does work. I was planning on saving up to fix Gypsy's flaking paint, but I'm going for the windows and when ALL of the paint falls off I'm getting some of that green and blue polishing stuff and buying a set of Cool Rays. And finally, I liked the repoire' that Tom had with his crew. He didn't seem to be a money hungry despot to me. The entire crew and Tom were a close knit group of friends doing the best job they could. I spent a lifetime running crews of rowdy construction Electricians and Tom seems a good guy to me. Man that's a great idea. I have not had condensation problems but, I have tried to remove my screens and that's a no go. Plus I would really like to have more insulation primarily in the summer. Thanks for the leg work and please keep us up to date on fit and finish... Our best to Irene ------------------ 1985 28 foot Regal Dave and Deb Bowers
