Coat it with navel jelly and wash off with water after it dies its work. The spray it with carburetor cleaner and reinstall. Should be fine. Check the float in a can of fuel. If it sinks more than about 1/4 of the diameter get a replacement at the auto store. Sometimes they begin to absorb fuel or water and then they read improperly.
