This may be a dumb question, but I need to take out the chairs so I can change the color with SEM spray paint. I see that they are attached to the floor by four bolts. My question is.... are the bolts screwed into something solid or are there nuts underneath that will fall away after the bolts are out?

On my Regency, The bolts appear to go straight thru the floor and the nuts can be seen from the underside, underneath the coach.

I have not looked for a while, but this is what I remember ...and there seems to be plenty of room to work under there.

I clamped a vice grip on the nuts underneath to take them out. The gravity factor let me back them off without help. I did need Lynn to start the bolts when we reinstalled as I threaded the nuts on from below and the tightened them down.

When I had them out I also put heavy steel extenders on the seat belts to make them easier to find to strap in. Don't want Lynn breaking my windshield! Sorry

Thanks guys. Hope to get all this done next few weeks. I'm changing the colors inside and putting down vinyl planks on the floor. Will try posting photos when completed.

If you use vinyl flooring be sure to get something that locks together. I put vinyl down that had adhesive edges. Seams were invisible when installed but after one winter the vinyl shrank and all the seams opened up and did not close up the next summer.

I plan to replace it with something else soon.

Steve VW, Yep... That's what I got. SMARTCORE brand, Canberra Acacia vinyl planks that interlock. A bit pricey but I got it 10% off at Lowe's for being retired Army.

I agree with the vinyl planks that lock together. Mine are the "stick-down" type and they spread depending upon temperature. Also, even though I used a sealer/undercoating on the plywood subfloor - recommended by the vinyl manufacturer - the edges still come up a bit when the weather is hot.

As far as the seat bolts go, mine were so solidly rusted when I re-did the carpet in the front that soaking for weeks in PB Blaster and additional penetration oils wouldn't release them. I eventually broke the nuts with a nut splitter purchased from an autoparts store. I then replaced the bolts with new grade 8 hardware. I also seem to remember that the length for passenger side is different than for driver side.
