Different Tow Braking Systems?
I am now doing some research on the available braking systems for toads. I have the info and source on ebay for buying a Brake Buddy. However, I have now gleaned some information that indicates that the US Gear Unified Tow Brake system is a better system. I gather that the installation is more - we have to get everything techical and mechanical done by the professionals as we aren't able to do it ourselves. However, some users who have had Brake Buddy systems, have switched to the USGear system and are glad they did. I haven't been able to find the names of other braking systems might work just as well so am still searching for more information on any type of braking system. Anyone out there have any input that could help us - including any sources for reasonably priced systems?
Thanks

Linda and Dave,
US Gear does make a better, or perhaps I should say easier system. They are designed to be permanently installed and this feature makes them simpler to hook up and disconnect each time you tow. Alternatively, the Brake Buddy will swap from vehicle to vehicle without any need for retrofit. Connecting the Brake Buddy is not an issue for me, so I plan to go that direction, however I looked at US Gear and liked their set up as well. I think either will do the job of slowing the toad.

I like the US Gear. It is no joy to install, but it offers the ability to brake the toad independently. This can be quite useful at times.
