Edelbrock is now offering an electronic fuel injection kit for big block Chevrolet engines. If someone ever wanted to upgrade their carbureted 454, this would do the trick, albeit, probably an expensive trick. Here is the link to the Edelbrock web page:

Neighbor put one on his pick up. Great system! About $1200 -1500.00 for everything, but he can dial it in with a remote from inside the cab, adjust timing and fuel ratios for the fuel type/load conditions... really likes it. He says he's getting 5 - 10% more efficiency, too...
