This engine is a 1996 and newer 7.4 L 454 c.i.d. GEN 6 This premium re manufactured longblock engine for GMC Chevrolet includes the oil pump and gasket set.
For identification, this engine has a one piece rear seal crankshaft, hydraulic lifters,
four bolt mains and rectangle port heads for good power.

Our heavy duty RV engines for Class A motorhomes feature
RV camshafts and valve springs to match, RV pistons and gaskets.
The crank is never welded and the cylinder heads have valve rotators.
Call 1-219-798-9302 for questions days and evenings.>>Crown Point, Indiana, United States
This better than rebuilt, quality remanufactured engine has been SIM tested at speed
to verify oil pressure, oil flow to each bearing,
compression, cylinder leakdown, and has a zinc additive during the hot run-in..
This engine has a refundable core deposit of $1,050.
We still pay $525 Core Refund for your cracked block.

MACHINING, ASSEMBLY and TESTING OPERATIONS
The block, crank, rods and head are chemically cleaned in a sodium hydroxide jet stripper and Magnafluxed.
Typically, cylinders are bored over and
chamfered with two-stage plateau honing on the cylinder walls using Sunnen Honing Equipment.
Blocks are decked, heads are surfaced, valves are refaced
or replaced, guides or liners, never knurled connecting rods are checked for alignment and cracks, re-sized, and shot-blasted. Crankshaft is Magnafluxed, chem-stripped, re-machined and micro-polished.
We fit new statically balanced pistons with Sealed Power piston rings and SS-50 stainless steel oil control rings plus new wrist pins.
Bottom end is align-honed if necessary.
The engine comes with a Melling oil pump, Federal Mogul main and rod bearings,
Dura-Bond cam bearings, new cam shaft, matching timing gear set, hydraulic lifters, push rods, rocker arm assemblies, and Fel-Pro Gasket Set.

Valve timing is checked and rocker arm assemblies are adjusted. After all machining has been performed and parts replaced ALL engines are hot run-tested at 180F on a SIM Tester at speed allowing us to check compression, test cylinder leak down, pump up the lifters, break in the piston rings, view oil flow and oil pressure to each bearing in the engine, impregnate the internal surfaces with zinc, verify valve timing and measure each cylinder's piston ring drag on the cylinder walls.

All Engines are heavy bagged, shrink wrapped with anti-corrosion paper, cradled and protected for shipping to anywhere. 32" X 24" X 30" tall.

Would you use this??

Looks like reputable outfit. One year warranty. This is a reasonable price for the parts and machining described, IMHO.

The only downside I can see is no mention of a roller camshaft setup. This is a desirable option typical of the latest 454s. It costs about $1200 to convert to roller cam from earlier flat tappet engines.

Good morning;

Steve's comments are valid, and I agree with him. Yes, I would seriously consider such an engine for use in my GMC P37 motor home chassis if needed again.

I am also impressed with the comment about the one year warranty in motor home use. The remanufactured engine from another very well known engine rebuilder that went into my P37 late last Summer had only a six month warranty.

Also, the literature that came with the engine describing the availability of an extended warranty plan specifically stated that the extended warranty plan was not available when the engine was used in motor home service. I guess that means that I really do need to do the oil changes and all that other maintenance stuff.

Enjoy;

My only question would be: Who remanufactured this engine? What company name is behind that warranty?
