Just finished installing a King Cruise Control on my CAT 3208T Regency and was confused about how to connect the speed sensor wires to the existing system. I did find a speed sensor on the transmission and after tracing it I found it connected to the old Bendix Air Cruise unit. The Tech said to be careful because their cruise control won't work if it is connected to a sender that also feeds the speedometer. Apparently the signal is too low when loaded up so I started reading the Gillig Manual for the chassis and I found a short statement that the speedometer sensor is located on the front wheel! Never heard of that before but after checking it turns out the transmission sensor is only for the old cruise (or the new one) and the speedometer is fed from a sensor that is mounted close to the drivers side brake drum. Just an FYI. The new unit works just fine. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny | ||
