My windshields were both cracked. Drivers side top to bottom crack from a rock chip that originally cracked out maybe an inch. On the way home from Louisiana had 2 days of 40 mph straight side wind buffeting the coach. It made the chip begin splitting. The passenger side a bullseye rock chip split out 6inches. That’s the back story. Now for the insurance story. Full glass coverage. They wanted to total the coach. Said Midnight was only worth $4000. Windshield replacement $4116.96. There were some heated exchanges that I apologized to folks when I thought about the person calling. It wasn’t their fault. They live in a data and virtual reality. Told them my generator was worth more than that. There is someone on Facebook currently. Dealing with the same issue. No sale history. Except trashed units auctioned off.People delete their for sale ads. They never say what they paid. Sale price is like asking a women’s age. Insurance has no accurate data. Most 25+year old coaches are trash. Now for the useful hopefully to some. If you have a RSV wide body 3 piece windshield. The center strip on mine was 3 1/4” wide. The guys who put it in cut for me on site. They cut the length the same as the windshields.. Coach glass physically searched the warehouse for days looking for some they believed they had. They didn’t! Only issue there is not tint at the top. Can add if it bothers. Don’t believe it will. The numbers for these windshields are Drivers side- AO263DR Passenger———- AO263PS Those are from Coach Glass The insurance company and there Glass wranglers couldn’t find any windshields for me until they used these numbers I provided them they could reverse look and found it to be the correct glass. I believe it has something to do with the abbreviations used. I have seen Barth abbreviations of Bath, Brth, listing as model used instead of Brand. The strip removed. They took it out first. It broke but was being replaced so no issues. We got the windshields in just ahead of the storm. Radar had showed we had another hour plus. Mother Nature does what she wants when she wants! The work in progress. Can’t say enough about how great these guys were. City Auto Glass in Mankato Minnesota. Notice I have not named the insurance company or the Glass Broker. My insurance agent was great and fought tooth and nail with the chain of command and finally jumped over it and went to the top. I don’t want any repercussions for her by naming them. Sorry Steve I forgot you had started a thread with the glass numbers. I named this RSV windshields because seeing the side entry 26 ft Regal diesel puller has the same end cap and windshields. I was surprised to see the corrugated sides on that one. Bill had requested the corrugated and was told they had none when he ordered. Must not have had 38 feet lengths. I’ve seen pictures of a number of Monarchs all I’ve seen are smooth. I'm just happy that the windshields are still available. My center strip is fogging but the rest are not too bad. Tom had several of the side windows resealed before I got it and they are ok, too. I may look into insurance for my glass. Considering what is being spent, it is no small bill! Lots of variation in the RSVs just like the older ones. Should be 34, 36, 38 and 40ft but there are at least 3 that are 37ft. My 37 and Jim Roller"s have the same floor plan, one that was not the same as others. Hank Joiner had a nice RSV yellow gas puller on a Regal chassis about 28ft. Considering they made less than 50 there are a fair number of RSVs still on the road. I will be running mine for a while longer I hope. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp | |||

Some times I think I should order two new windshields and keep them for possible future use. Although how much future I have at 83 is a second question. Ours sits beside our house and gets most used a quest house these days although I have reservation in San Diego next month. Curious if you are using the GM windshields like I do? Drivers side- AO263DR Passenger———- AO263PS Gary the above are numbers for the RSV windshields. They are not like the Breakaway windshields. When the reorg was done and restarted the factory they must have gotten a new run of fiberglass for the front end with a new/different windshield size. This is the preRSV for all but the earliest Coaches. 1973 to 1995 For most of our our Barth coaches the DW 730 is the passengers side and the DW 731 is for the drivers side. It also fits the GMC Astro 95 and the Chevrolet Titan 90 Cab Over Tractor Trailer Trucks from 1968 to 1988 & many firetrucks.
