Hi all,
I am pretty deep into rebuilding my 1976 24' P-30. I am looking for any technical documents, manuals, diagrams, drawings, photos, pertaining to maintenance and overhaul of a Chevy P-30 Chassis.

I am particularly interested in the powertrain, any engine transmission and differential documentation. I really want;

-454 Vaccuum diagram
-454 electrical diagram
-454 AIR system
-TH-400 automatic transmission
-Brake system

To fill you in on where I'm at and how I got here.
My coach had a sever overheating issue and a parasitic draw on the electrical system (crazy rats' nest of splices and add -ons over the years). I spent a decent bit of time tracing wires and the various systems on the 76 and it was pretty impressive. I decided to overhaul the entire coach as it wasn't reliable and smelled. I pulled the 454 and had it machined. I have made some minor performance upgrades to the motor. I am slowly rebuilding, and I am trying to stay ahead of the curve as I know the motor assembly is just one step. I'm working with an almost a blank slate once the motor is installed. I should have taken some more picture and documented better. I have a good grasp on mechanics. Any knowledge is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jesse

Welcome to the site! We should be able to help.
If you search the site, you will find lots of info.

Here is a link to the 79-86 GM Motorhome Service Guide. It should be fairly close:

I swapped out my 454 a while back:

Transmission, too:

Lots of other threads are on site. Good luck! Mechanic

Years ago I scanned and posted the entire GM chassis manual it is probably linked in the post above mine. It will not include engine rebuild data though but may also be included above. Congrats on your project and if I can help in any way please reach out.

Looks like a great project! Are you stripping the floors too? I've always wondered what people find when the look at the junction between the aluminum framing up top and the steel framing below.

Steve VW posted the wiring diagram from 1986:
https://www.barthmobile.com/ev...1087061/m/1703990167

It will mostly apply to your year, things like the electric fuel pump in the tank, the electric choke, and AIR system electrics may change. I may have the same info in a differently formatted file, on an old PC, I'll check. You can find that on Ebay too, and having the paper copy is something I like.

The vacuum hoses have a "standard" for the quadrajet, which has some differences from year to year, based upon electrically and thermally operated vacuum switches, and options like AIR, EGR, EFE, etc! Also, the Barth team will have tapped in to vacuum too, for the operation of the heater controls. By the 1980s, GM put the diagram on the Air Cleaner, I'll see if I can find a picture.

Happy Motoring!
Matt
