Anyone know where the back up alarm is located on our coaches? Is it part of the back up camera? I know on Barth I it was erratic, but worked most of the time. But I was always driving so I don't know where the beeping sound was coming from. With Barth II I got nothing but would like to fix that. It is nice to have an audible warning when going in reverse. 9303 3855 33BS 1B Bruce & Kathleen 1993 33' Front Entrance Breakaway 230HP Cummins 5.9, Allison 6 speed, Spartan Chassis, Nicely Optioned

Bruce, You will likely find it in your engine compartment. A black box with a grid of some kind. I'll see if I can get a pic. It won't be part of the camera, I'm pretty sure. It may look like a small enclosed fan and should be placed where the acoustic energy won't be blocked, such as behind the grill. You may find two. Ours is located in the engine compartment, in front of the tailight, on the passenger side. On ours this is also next to the batteries (rear, passenger side, corner) 1993 Breakaway 36ft & 1977 20 ft Spartan: air ride and brakes & P32(?) Looks something like this... I should have mentioned that the engine compartment location is for pushers. It will be in the rear regardless. I don't think it was necessarily standard; my PO installed one in the engine intake compartment (Driver's side, furthest back). Right, I never thought of that. I suppose they may have always been an option on RVs whereas commercial trucks over a certain size I believe are mandatory. In any case, a smart addition. According to the brochure, Breakaways came with back up alarms. I need to try to find ours. No matter if it's there or not, I agree with Corey and there will be a working one by time I'm done. It would make sense to be in the engine compartment. I wonder how it is hooked into the reverse circuit? 9303 3855 33BS 1B Bruce & Kathleen 1993 33' Front Entrance Breakaway 230HP Cummins 5.9, Allison 6 speed, Spartan Chassis, Nicely Optioned

There is likely a relay attached to the reverse light circuit. I'd fish around in your electrical box and see if it lets itself be found. Then you could excite the relay and see if it's supplying power downstream. Do your reverse lights work? Yes, our reverse AND back up flood lights do work. It's raining right now, but as soon as it clears up I am going on a seek and search mission for the back up alarm. Maybe there isn't even one there... 9303 3855 33BS 1B Bruce & Kathleen 1993 33' Front Entrance Breakaway 230HP Cummins 5.9, Allison 6 speed, Spartan Chassis, Nicely Optioned

There was an alarm on my '77, aftermarket, I'm sure but, as I try to recall I do not remember seeing it any where when I tore the old gal apart. Hmmmm! #1 29' 1977parted out and still alive in Barths all over the USA

Found the alarm. Only thing hooked to it is a ground wire. No other wires around it that might be the circuit. Looks like a new wiring job which I normally leave to those who know what they are doing.... 9303 3855 33BS 1B Bruce & Kathleen 1993 33' Front Entrance Breakaway 230HP Cummins 5.9, Allison 6 speed, Spartan Chassis, Nicely Optioned
