...on the subject of electrical failures:

I had a DC catastrophe which caused my PD 9270 to have an output of 49.0 amps.

This damaged a number of electronic items.

I have cleaned-up most of the problems, however, my fridge keeps blowing 5 amp fuses.

No matter what what I seem to do, as soon as I touch a new 5 amp fuse to it's contacts, the fuse blows.

Just curious if anyone has any suggestions.

The PC boart for the Atwater Water Heater had an original board, which did not have any fused protection. It literally fried [burned]. I replaced that board with a Dinosaur P-711 and all is good with the water heater.

Don't want to invest in a new board for the refer until I have a better idea of what might be wrong.
