I have not had mine apart but it appears the motors are in the light itself. Mine has a joystick to control movement. I would start with the light itself and check for mechanical problems (motor or gears need lube, etc.)

If no obvious problems, check the voltages at the motor terminals while someone moves the joystick around. Obviously the unit has power to the switch since up/down works but there may be a wiring problem (common in these old coaches)

Could be the joystick itself but I'm guessing 1) mechanical or 2) wiring harness. You mentioned in another post you had some rust around the windshield, maybe moisture got into the light?

I'll see if I can find a wiring diagram.

Good luck mechanic

Ii have both, new style that I got from Nick at gtg auction, and old stile that came on our Regal. They both work the same as far as wiring. 2 wire to each mtr, reversing polarity for rotation and up and down, I had a broken connection at the roof where the cable does rotate and a motor that needed a little oil to run. All the motor switching is done at the joy stick. As far as operation the circuit worhs the same as most power mirrors on cars. I think someone could use the controls from a power mirror if they needed. The company that made the older style on our Regal has been out of business for several years , but the motor was still available.
