Two 50 gal. tanks with standard P30 toggle switch arrangement - just flip to the tank you want to burn.......

Yesterday I topped-off left tank ($168.00! Mad)
Right tank indicated about 1/8th & was left as-is.

This morning, both tanks indicated just a tad over half full..... A thump-on-the-tanks test indicated the gauge was telling the truth......

What should be my pecking order to troubleshoot?

Thanks!

My Barth has only one tank, but I have had previous P30s and boats that used a Pollak selector valve.

I don't know your system, but would guess that the fuel is getting through the valve without being commanded. This could just be a one-time bit of debris in the valve or could be a permanent, duplicatable condition. I would pinch off the lines, remove the valve, blow it out both ways and reinstall, mwith and without the coil energized. If it happens again, replace the valve.

Is the valve located above the top of the tanks? It might be a good idea to relocate it if it is not.

In addition to my Barth, I also own a 1977 GMC Palm Beach. Had a problem starting-it this spring. Determined that some of the gas-line was severly deteriorated. Replaced the fowl lines, but still could not start.

Next thing in-line was the Fuel Selector Valve [identicle to the one pictured above]. Purchased-it from local auto parts store for about 40 bucks.

Was unable to remove the old one, so I mounted the new one in about the same location; re-routing short sections of fuel line.

GMC fired right-up following installation and runs great. Able to select from either tank. An easy and inexpensive repair.

If the valve is above the level of the fuel in the tanks, a small piece of debris on the seat will be less likely to allow a gravity equalization sitiation.

Ha! .............I wish.

For two brief, shining moments I did make decent money. Then, under threat of bankruptcy, my employer forced a pay cut of around 30% on us. As soon as I had PBGC protection, I retired.
