The two belts on this engine gave me endless headaches until a Freightliner shop (Peach State Freightliner College Park) told me they must be matched. Same part number does not guarantee same dimensions. Made a big difference. The Cat place made no mention of this when it was in for this issue.

I had the same experience until I called Gillig and got the correct set. There is no off the shelf set that fits! The Gillig belts are a tad longer than any Gates etc. belts. I got them on two years ago and they have worked perfectly. There is a thread earlier on this site about the entire issue of the Gillig belts on the 3208T.
