You mentioned something about Dometics being happier higher on one side than the other. This particular unit had the ammonia tube going straight up from the burner/flue, then it went horizontally to the left (as seen from the back) and than down to the finned part. The horizontal run was a little uphill. I wonder if that was related to what you were describing. If I recall correctly, you said the left side (as viewed from inside) liked to be higher. That would make the horizontal run I described more level. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

FYI---My Dometic (5 years old) was working on electric but not gas...traced it to a bad, factory, mother board.... Local RV store quoted me me $400 for the board. I went on EBAY and bought for $99 with shipping from DragonBoards. Works great now.

I was trying to remember how the Dometic in my SOB was - it tolerated one side higher, but not the other. Can't recall which side was which. A couple of friends with Dometics had the same issue, so it wasn't just my unit. Yeah, that is often something to try, outa frustration, if nothing else. It was very common on airliners to get a stuck relay or contactor to release, but my ammonia fridge experience is in the distant past, so it was just a wild shot, tried after everything else pointed to a lockup. The ultimate screamer would be for him to leave his RV at the dealer, cancel or rebook all his reservations, and have them charge him several hundred dollars for a hammer hit or two. I'd bet that happens. And, he is the kind of guy who will replace with new if the repair price seems too high. Then the dealer could sell his old one as a "remanufactured" unit. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered
