Would you spray or treat the aluminum framework before putting in the insulation? Rafael

A concern of mine with Styrofoam or a sprayed foam would be noise. Ever had to listen to a foam cooler squeaking against anything. In a house that doesn't move or a trailer that you are not traveling in this would not be a concern, but could be real annoying in a coach. 1986 31' Regal -1976 Class C 454/T400 P30 -350/T400 G30 twin cntr beds - 21' rear bath

Not to worry the foam adhers to what ever you are spraying to very well thus giving it rigidity,I presently own two foamed in vans.had it done proffesionally,i discourage the pour stuff.Make sure it is very well masked as there is an overspray that is almost impossible to remove. You might want give it a coat of latex to remove any toxicticty.lt might be expensive but well worth it.I had mine done by a co that sprayed fish holds. Some insulating contractors also do it,probably cheaper.Good luck,Wally 34ft monarch van-isle.After thought, the warmer the weather the better product results.

I had my shop done by a commercial company that does work all over the eastern half of the country. Oak Ridge National Labs, TVA, etc. Done in two stages. First stage in 2012, walls up to 6' height, 2" of closed cell foam. Worked great. Second stage, May 2013, rest of the walls from the 6' mark up to 8' and then the entire roof. After two months, a strange thing happened. All the metal siding and roofing panels started to bow in. Not just the ones on the roof but also the ones on the side from the 6' mark to the 8' mark. Talked to the president of the company who is coming down this week. He's never run into this before. It makes no sense. The stuff weighs 2# per cubic foot. The biggest unsupported area is 5' x 15' so 5x15x.166=12.45#, so you wouldn't think its weight. Will advise what the outcome is. If there's a possibility that this can bow the substrate metal, that could be a real problem.

Jim and Tere.I feel for you. When I had my van sprayed( Urathane )both units product came from a very heavy 55gal drum. You might want to find the weight of the product in total they used. Also some foam is known to absorb moisture thus resulting in more weight.Good luckWally 34ft monarch,van-isle

I suspect maybe the foam is shrinking/swelling as it final cures? Delayed reaction, literally. If the surface sticks and then the rest changes it might warp...? Let us know, this is indeed odd. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

For all the do-it-yourselfer's out there let me assure you this was not a job for the faint of heart. Well over 100 man-hours from starting to remove the cabinets until completion. This is the material I used. It is actually a marine boat carpet. And I still suffer from that same case of the might as wells. Replaced the overhead lighting with new LED fixtures. Here is a picture of the inside control of the new Jack TV antenna. Thank's to Danny Z for the painting suggestion. One cover painted and one not. and installed Don't know what the next minor project will be. Nick

Nick Nice job. Tell me you took pictures of the meat of the project. What you did for the insulation? Your temps are going to be so much more comfortable. Nice finish with the marine carpet. John, I took the liberty of amending that and posting it on a different forum as" "Not all who wander are lost" because some who wander, ARE lost

Nick, EXCELLENT job! I can imagine how difficult working overhead for hours and hours must have been... OUCH.

The pix don't do it justice; it really brightens the coach. Nick and I discussed the differences in our coaches; I have vinyl headliners and cloth wallpaper (matching vinyl in the bath and kitchen). Nick has the cloth headliner and vinyl wall covering. I ordered 3 of the 12" 3-tube LED lights from my favorite online auto parts store, Amazon. Good idea, Rusty. I have retrofitted several existing fixtures w LED's in the Class B. The one to put in the Bargman patio fixture is one I do not see many places. It can be turned on the axis of the socket for aiming. http://www.ebay.com/itm/180473...id=p3984.m1438.l2649 I put 5W or 7W Cree with focusing lenses as backup lights -- highly directional and big improvement from what had been pathetic backup lighting. The SC-430 car has backup lamps way down in the very bottom of the bumper, but in a fairly large housing/lens. So, I plan to use these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300985...id=p3984.m1423.l2649
