bill hA Cooling Must for GM chassis Barths
An inducement to become a Contributing Member:
In a number of ramblings
http://barthmobile.com/eve/forums?a=search&reqWords=&ex...Type=1&search=Search I have mentioned the desirability of having a right side splash shield to match the left. It is far more than a splash shield, though. It helps provide a path for cooling air to flow over the right side of the engine. This really helps prevent plug wire and manifold overheating. Many GM MH owners know that the issues mentioned are much more common on the right side. No one who has dealt with a frozen or sheared-off exhaust manifold bolt wishes a rematch.

Even a warped exhaust manifold is a lot of trouble.
No one knows why GM left the right side naked until the RH splash guard pn 15983041 was added 7/15/93, starting with VIN #321432.
I checked my local GM parts temp, and got the usual blank stare, so availability might be a concern. To that end, I will make a full-size traced pattern for any
Contributing Member. Shipping is on me. With the pattern, it is easy to make your own out of sheet metal. Only one 90 degree bend is required. The front edge attaches to the tubular radiator support brace, and the lower edge bolts to the frame rail. GM drawing of installation included.

Yup, as long as no one has removed the tubular radiator support. Tomorow or so, I will post a scan of the manual illustration.

Thank you for your support. I hope you find Bill H's device helpful. I know that if Bill has one on his coach, then everyone should have one too.
