All you breakaway drivers: Can you give me an idea what penalty in milage you pay towing a 2500lb toad? I'm trying to decide if a toad or Enterprise is the way to go. I do mostly Flatland driving. Thanks to all Wayne

We average about 10.5 (10,000+ miles) overall pulling a 3400 pound Suzuki Grand Vitara. Don't know what without as we alway have either the Vitara or Tracker with us. The Tracker is about 800 pounds lighter. Keep in mind that I normally run 65-70mph all the time. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance

I just got back from picking-up our new (to us) 30' Breakaway in Wisconsin and driving it to Seattle towing a 2003 Saturn Vue and got 9.11 mpg. That includes crossing the Rockies and Cascades. "Keep On Truckin" 94 30' Breakaway #3866 5.9 cummins on spartan chassis

My TOAD is a Smart Car. I averaged 8.5 the only time I measured it without the TOAD from LA to Phoenix. That was mountains and wind and so forth. I do not think in the overall scheme of things unless you are towing your Navigator that it amounts to much more to how you drive. Speed is a major factor. I drive between 55 and 60 as going faster has no reason for me a retired person. Tom Taylor
