My '85 Barth Regal has been parked for about 5 years with the hydraulics down. I'm ready to move it and cannot retract any of them. I cannot get any response when flipping the hydraulic switches. Any suggestion on 1) getting them to retrack ..... or 2) removing them and deactivating the system. We won't plan on using them in the future. What's the best way to get them up? Can we retract them and/or cut the hydraulic lines without damage to anything else?

Normally the weight of the coach, then the tension on the springs is enough to make them retract. There is no "power assist" to raise them, they just return the fluid to the reservoir via the open control valve as the piston collapses. Be sure the control levers are latched in the up position (not centered) Try a pry bar under the jack to see if it will move. Maybe try lowering them farther with power to get them unstuck, then try to retract again? I suspect they are rather corroded and that may be the problem. Try spraying some oil on the rams and the pivot points as well. Let it soak and try the above test. If you can't get them to loosen up they can be removed. Remove the pressure line and plug it, also the wire to the tilt switch. Then use a separate jack to raise the coach until the load is off the leveler. They attach to the frame pad above with 4 rusty bolts. Once the bolts are removed the complete jack can be removed. I believe HWH still rebuilds them. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

If you're not going to use the system, I would be interested in purchasing the control panel. My Regal has the jacks, hoses, and pump reservoir underneath (don't know if anything works yet} but I am missing the cab control panel. I'm unsure how the system controls work at this time but I need that component at least. 1991 Regal 28' 454 Banks Power Pak

Does anyone have any idea on what they cost to replace the levelers? our motorhome sat for a long time before we got it. the first time we used the levelers they sort of exploded and parts went all over the driveway. Now i just make sure i have a few 2x6's when we go. It would be nice to make these work again.

Get your model numbers out of the binder for your coach and call HWH. They repair/rebuild and sell new. A full new system is between $3,000 and $5,000, depending on the system you need. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

Not sure if necessary to retract but I would think so - make sure there is power to the control panel and the power switch is on. I find it strange that all levelers will not retract. Also, on my '92 Breakaway there is an old style fuse located in the control panel's face. I had to replace the fuse holder (Amazon) to get power/the panel to light up. Make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse. Is the panel powered from a coach or chassis circuit?
