Nick, Just curious. Did you ever contact Gillig to see if they had the pump?

The system must have enough leaks that the cut-off switch never completely cuts off the pump. I am wondering about installing a manual switch in the dash to cut the pump off when I'm not trying to operate the doors.

I missed this earlier. The problem with a manual switch is that the doors will go to the "home" (spring-loaded) position when vacuum drops, so you'd have to flip the switch periodically.

My system holds vacuum for several days (after replacing a couple of lines), so I ordered this switch to minimize wear on the pump. BTW, mine's the same as yours.

Company is SCSFrigette; the Motorhome Magazine site is now worthless for useful links, but this is a direct link.

Okay I have removed the old venturi generator and have ordered and already received the replacement pump. It is exactly like the one pictured by Ed. I need to put a switch so it does not run all the time. The link above takes me to a place called evparts.com. The listing is for new parts $1400 to $4600 parts. I am betting they are not the ones I want confusion Any more help on what the switch is you are talking about so I can get one. I need the heat working for this fall hunting season. Also how do I wire it in when I get it?

Okay I dug in further in the evparts site searching vacuum switch and found it they also say I need a relay and have a nice wiring diagram. When the rest of the parts get here we will see what we can make happen. Nick has it been working well for you?

Hey folks -
Have an issue with our HVAC system in the dash not putting out enough volume because it blows through all the vents simultaneously. Discovered that the controls are operated by vacuum (same as most cars) and in the absence of vacuum, they never change configuration. From these posts, believe there is a vacuum pump somewhere that is not working. Can anyone tell me where to start looking for the vacuum pump? Also a recommendation for replacement?
Thanks,

Look for the vacuum pump just inside the generator compartment door. Mine is mounted on the passenger side just inside.

Nick - Thank you much - I found the small round vacuum accumulator yesterday right in the front, so pump must be close.

My coach has an air operated step rather than electric although the manuals that came with the coach have a Quickee instruction manual. Does anyone else have an air powered (not vacuum) step?
