I've seen these plastic things they sell to put under tires to protect them if the Barth is parked for a time. Anyone been able to determine if there's something just as good that can be scavenged from some ordinary use and therefore, free? Maybe a piece of wood or some black plastic would do the job. I'm not sure just what these plastic things do.

In the picture you see here, I have backed the Barth out it's normal resting spot which is a Class 5 gravel base. I have stretched a length of quality outdoor carpet which I tried to get to match the strips on the Barth. It is held down with 10 inch spikes and 3 in washers. It has held well in summer and winter for 3-4 years. I have taken some 3 x 3 foot 3/4" plywood squares and attached some of the the same carpeting and drove the Barth onto those. It has worked quite will and gives me a target when I pull into the Barth parking space. ![]() ![]()

I'm pretty sure your protecting the blacktop from getting sinking spots from lack of use. I doubt there to protect the tire. It's to balance out the weight a little more. Or we talking about the same thing? Bill N.Y.
